I suppose the final answer lies in what level you are. Some daedric quests can't be started until you are higher level. Azura's Star is the item you can get at lowest level, which is 2. I don't think that updating is a real problem. It is quite lengthy to create a new character, but not sure what you could do to fix that. Some small things, the magicka and fatigue can be gotten from their attributes and birthsigns, so if the system could figure those out it would make it a bit shor...

The house in Leyawin is so dissappointing though. With all the nicer homes near, one would think they could make one of those available.
