Light armor question.

I'm trying to calculate how much I'll need to raise my light armor so I can have an 85 instead of 84 armor class while wearing my sole piece of light armor. The formula as I understand it is

ArmorRating = ( 0.35 + 0.0065 * Skill ) * BaseArmorRating

The base of my piece, the ayleid crown of lindai, is listed as 0. Therefore using this formula it will only produce a 0 no matter what. Am I missing something? My ayleid crown has an armor value in-game.

I'm pretty sure that when you receive the Ayleid crown of Lindai after the quest, it is completely broken and cannot be repaired. Therefore, although you are wearing it, it is not providing any protection and has no armor value. I am just speculating here, and I could be wrong as I have not played it in quite some time, but I hope this helps. :)

That's only if you give him the lindai helm for his ascension it gets ruined. I gave him the correct Nenalata crown then just stabbed him. My lindai helm is fully operational.

That's interesting then. I'm afraid I don't have any other ideas.

I guess light armor my man up and run into a horde of rats or mudcrabs or something and just play the waiting game. That is if I care enough to do it. Considering nothing can harm him except base arrow damage it's really more aesthetic than an actual gameplay factor.

I think that item is just for show. There are some ceremonial elven helms around that don't provide any protection either and others that are in various fighter's guild. My suggestion would be to put the helm wherever you have your showcase home.

It does have an armor factor of 2, not much really. I wear it solely cause it's 35% resist magic is an essential componet of my 105% resist magic stat.
