Elder Scrolls Novel Discussion

Postby Grayfox » June 13th, 2009, 7:58 pm

We need a discussion on this...

The plot sucks,
A cloud?
another emperor?

I was reading the article on Beth, and I was reading the top, I was thinking- yea, this is awesome

Then I read the bottom- Bethesda what in the heck are you freaking doing.

To be fair, Martin wasn't actually the last Septim.
The Empire is a confidence trick. Do you, the famed warrior races of Tamriel, having won international renown for your fighting prowess, consider yourselves and your abilities inferior to those of money-grabbing merchants and diplomats in armour?

No? Who was after him, then? (I'm a little rusty in TES IV, so I'm probably forgetting a lot of things.)

Yes he was, the line ended.

There is no kind of record of any other Dragon Bloods, no not one.

Empress Katariah (the Dunmer) was killed in Black Marsh by a disenfranchised branch of the Septim family, and apparently there are descendants of Tiber Septim ruling a kingdom in High Rock.

There are definately some Septim families around, many of which have better claims than some of the Septim emperors ever had ;)

Oh, yeah there are more Septims, but none are hiers to martin, only distant relatives. Correct? That is what "last of the line" means.

Correct. But most Septim emperors haven't been descendants, either, only distant relatives. Only a few have been the sons or grandsons of Tiber Septim. Some had pathetic claims to the throne. This novel isn't going to go against the lore, in theory.
