News Time Children!

Well after updating my new character for the leaderboards, I noticed something.
This point system isn't based off of how many people who have voted for it, but what the character is.

For example, a new character that has 99999999999 (Or the max) in every field will score ungodly high. So, people, be honest. If you have an awesome character, awesome enough to place it into the top 10, be honest about it.

This is a little a nudge to Tom to perhaps consider revising the exploit, just a bit.

How weird, your stat card was why I came here. To check your stats.
But the character in 2nd is perfectly fine (Although one thing is he/she's got 110 in some stats which means they're fortified and I think you're meant to put in un-fortified stats and stuff..), but because the Items Stolen number is so variable and it adds to score it makes some weird jumps in the scoreboard..

The Ohgma Infinium actually gives +10 to a few skills.

I can revise the Score system to include different statistics in the average. But, remember, Score is only one stat that can be sorted by in the Character Leaderboards. If you check the dropdown box near the upper right corner of the page, you will see a list of stats that you can sort characters by. Nevertheless, I will revise the Score system and remove some of the stats that get averaged in. Now, Kestral, what exactly is it that you are having a problem with? Is it just that the Score system needs revising, or were you experiencing some sort of other problem or bug?

No, I was merely pointing out that it can easily be abused to get #1 on the leader boards.

Ah, that's what I thought. I was just a bit confused by your post. ;)

I'll revise it today. What stats do you guys think should be removed from the average that makes up the Score? And, if any, which stats do you think should be included in the average that makes up the Score?

I don't see a problem with the score system the way it is. People are supposed to add their true stats, it says so in the Registration Terms of Agreement . I know some people will break that rule, but most of the time, we'll know it. It's also explained here that the score system is based off of people's stats, not people who have voted.

I think that when he was talking about the Score system, he meant that some of the stats that are averaged together to generate a character's score should be removed because people who are high in that stat could have a much higher Score than other characters who may be lower in that stat but are better overall than the first character. Mainly, the character Score system doesn't do justice to most characters who are actually better than their Score suggests.

From that part of Kestral's post, it sounds like he didn't know the score was based off of stats. It looked like he thought it was based of ratings or profile views.
