I envy you, I have to sing it every day.

I had to sing it every monday in primary school, but at grade 2 I started mimeing the words, and in grade 4 onwards I didn't even bother to do that

It made some teachers angry, but they couldn't do a damn about it

The American national anthem used to make me tear up a bit when our country first started getting involved in fighting in the Middle East again in the early 2000's. Now, I got used to it. I'm more patriotic than some others.

I'm pretty sure that you mean the Pledge of Allegiance, not the National Anthem. Americans barely ever sing the National Anthem.

Nope, I have to sing the Pledge of Allegiance, the Texas Pledge of Allegiance and finnaly The Star Spangled Banner aka national anthem. It' painful.
