Baidu is a Chinese search engine, and "Baidu [Spider]" is a web crawler for it.

Ok, just seemed odd that a "Spider" was here. Sounded like a virus.

Nope, not at all. phpBB3 (the software this forum runs on) has built-in "bot" users, so that whenever a bot or a search engine crawler is "viewing" The Elder Stats, it will show their "username" in gray on the Who is Online area. A spider is not a bad thing at all, it's just what search engines call their bots that search websites for information (in layman's terms).

Trust me - I'm on the phpBB Team and we meant to have spiders show up in the Who is Online area on phpBB3 forums. ;)
